Computer and laptop have no different applications for writer which some are provided for the first 60 days and some are free such as Microsoft Office is for purchase and Notepad, OpenOffice… are free.
Although most of the publishing platforms today offer friendly interfaces and simple graphic layouts sooner or later you will need to get you hands on code for styling blog post.
Notepad is not bad at all regard WordPress permalinks and read on to know more about each software:
Notepad, Notepad plus plus:
Tweaking HTML or CSS directly is the only way to fully control your website design and you have the ability to include everything, either to add more functionalities such as replacing content, website subscription… or writing posts.
The efficient way of writing blog post is throught a simple text editor like Window text editor such as Notepad and not recommenced for Notepad-Plus-Plus, but coding editor instead.
Notepad-plus-plus is as simple as the traditional Notepad which can be called Window text editor(Notepad). It comes packed with many great and useful features like:
- Macros.
- Auto-completion.
- Syntax and HTML tags highlighting.
- Drag and drop.
It’s available free to download if whoever is interested to try Notepad++.
Microsoft Office, OpenOffice:
Microsoft Office and Openoffice are not compatible to edit HTML code and writing blog posts. Why not for writing posts?
As I mentioned, publishing new posts by copy and paste from Microsoft or Openoffice will be affected WordPress permalinks, which will disconnect pages in your website.
There are benefits of using OpenOffice:
- Free.
- Create your own e-book which can convert to PDF file.
- Loading faster than Microsoft.

Application for writing posts allow to purchase or either cracking it and using it’s free.
It’s true to get what you pay for but depends and for writing blog post, I strongly recommenced to write post with Notepad. And as well, it is a wonderful experience with the first time trial of products.
